Collective exhibition ‘Urban Polar Explorers’ presents a new, unconventional perspective on one of world’s northernmost cities — Norilsk. Art objects and installations presented show artistic exploration of Arctic city and people, living on North.
The exhibition design plays with theme of northern natural phenomena: whether it’s northern lights, or polar night, or rare, but so important for Norilsk residents, sun.
Semicircular exhibition walls serve not only as backdrop for exhibits, but also become independent decorative elements. Each structure has transparent insert, animated with neon light that presents significant Northern light. Holographic materials are used in exhibition to create additional accents.
Circle motif, repeated in exhibition elements, symbolizes sun, setting rhythm of life for Norilsk people.
